Informatica has announced an update to its Enterprise Data Catalog, designed to support intelligent APIs and AI algorithms. The cloud data management company has built the new data catalog to improve customer accessibility within their own applications. Customers are also able to improve applications with metadata recommendations.

The Enterprise Data Catalog is able to scan through catalogs of data assets and compile them into an understandable business context. It can look at a range of domains and entities, including customer, product, and order, easily assigning them to the right place for easy search access.

“Data is needed to fuel digital transformation and without the knowledge of what data is available in the enterprise, business users spend their time looking for data and IT teams spend their time and resources answering routine questions about data assets,” said Ronen Schwartz, senior vice president and general manager of Big Data, Cloud and Data Integration at Informatica.

“Enterprises need to empower their employees with easy and rapid access to data as this is the foundation for any data management initiative. The Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog helps accelerate self-service analytics and democratize data across the enterprise providing simple and easy technologies to make intelligent metadata available to everyone in the organization.”
