Cisco Buys July Systems to Expand Enterprise Wi-Fi Capabilities

Cisco has announced plans to acquire Burlingame-based location services solution provider July Systems, in an effort to add July’s cloud-based mobile capabilities to Cisco’s enterprise offerings. This should bolster Cisco’s enterprise Wi-Fi platform in order to implement indoor location services capacities.

Enterprise clients will be able to benefit from the in-building Wi-Fi for a broad range of indoor location usage. Along with implementing smooth connectivity, Wi-Fi aids enterprises cull deep visitor behavior insights, correlate these findings with their enterprise systems, as well as push for better customer and employee experiences.

July Systems also administers an enterprise-grade engagement platform including components such as instantaneous customer activation, data-based behavioral understandings, and related rules engine and APIs. The result is a cloud-based signature that offers a global impression, supported through end-to-end SLA.

Not a new partnership for Cisco and July

For many years, Cisco has worked beside the July Systems company as an OEM for Cisco Connected Mobile Experience (CMX), Right now, the plan to acquire July Systems’ platform and business context abilities in order to offer an integrated result on which their partners and clients can form and present a scope of indoor location solutions. This will include diverse industries such as hotels, healthcare, logistics, government, sports arenas, education, manufacturing, and retail.

With Cisco’s enterprise Wi-Fi and July Systems’ global engagement footprint, partners are able to focus on developing industry-specific resources for clients on a large-scale. This acquisition is in line with Cisco’s goal of creating intent-based networking. The firm now has declared that it is starting its intent-based networks with a series of sturdy new developer tools.

Directed by Scott Harrell, senior vice president and general manager, July Systems will link Cisco’s Enterprise Networking Group. The acquisition is anticipated to be finished in the first quarter of the 2019 fiscal year. At this time, the conditions and purchase rate of the acquisition are yet to be revealed.
