Saudi German Hospital (SGH) in Dubai has announced a partnership with robotic process automation company Automation Anywhere. The partnership will develop AI-powered bots used to increase efficiency during the COVID-19 crisis by automating business processes and helping to improve patient care.

AI: Helping to Deliver Better Outcomes

“The addition of newest Automation capabilities will allow SGH hospital to add value and support caregivers in the treatment process by providing deeper insights on the patient’s specific condition, lifestyle & patient behavior in real-time,” said Dr. Reem Osman – Group CEO- Saudi German Hospitals UAE. “The cognitive and AI technology infusion will empower our Intelligent Patient Platform to expand competencies and deliver better outcomes.”

Saudi German, one of the largest healthcare providers in the country, expects this technology to improve its business resiliency. The provider collaborated with Automation Anywhere and Advances ESC to identify areas that would benefit from the bots.

Both the finance and insurance departments experience high volumes of critical processes, including pre-authorization, patient admittance, and insurance eligibility. These areas stand to benefit greatly from adding bots to streamline and automate processes.

Automation Anywhere bots will work in the front and back offices to increase efficiency in:

  • Patient admissions
  • Insurance billing
  • Office management
  • Business operations

The healthcare provider expects the bots to drastically reduce patient waiting times and improve the overall patient experience.

“Intelligent automation empowers healthcare organizations to perform more time-consuming, manual tasks, freeing up staff to treat an increased number of patients by improving hospital efficiencies,” says Milan Sheth, executive vice president, IMEA at Automation Anywhere.

“Medical systems impacted by the global pandemic are seeing how automation technology can have a huge impact on a patient’s progress by implementing bots for processes, such as simplifying patient appointment scheduling, streamlining account settlements, and managing healthcare workflows. All of this time saved can go right back into patient care,” he says.
