The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), the global home of open source software the world relies on, today announced that Apache Gluten and Apache Polaris have become Top-Level Projects (TLPs).

Apache Gluten is an open-source middle-layer plugin designed to dramatically accelerate Apache Spark SQL and DataFrame workloads. It acts as a bridge, offloading compute-intensive tasks from the JVM-based Spark to high-performance native engines such as Velox or ClickHouse, with an extensible architecture designed to enable future integration with ASF projects like Apache DataFusion.

Apache Polaris is an open source, fully-featured catalog for Apache Iceberg. It implements Iceberg’s REST API, enabling seamless multi-engine interoperability across a wide range of platforms, including Apache Doris, Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Dremio OSS, StarRocks, and Trino.

Real-time analytics news in brief

IBM launched Db2 Genius Hub, which brings autonomous capabilities to Db2. Specifically, Db2 Genius Hub is an AI-powered data management console that introduces autonomous capabilities for Db2 operations, grounded in AI-driven reasoning and built in agentic workflows. In particular, the solution delivers autonomous database capabilities through three core operational areas that define how day-to-day database operations change. They include:

  • Agentic maintenance: Handles recurring operational work such as engine updates, patching, health checks, performance optimization, and backup and recovery. By automating these well-bounded tasks, Db2 Genius Hub reduces ongoing manual effort while helping maintain consistent performance and availability across the database estate.
  • Agentic healing: Continuously analyzes workload behavior and system signals to identify anomalies early and prevent issues from materializing. This includes detecting locking behavior, query regressions, and workload queuing before they impact users, reducing the volume of alerts that require human attention.
  • Agentic response: When issues do occur, Db2 Genius Hub shortens time to resolution by performing what-changed analysis, multi-step investigation, and deep log analysis. Clear, contextual explanations are surfaced to guide next steps, reducing time spent on manual root-cause investigation.

Coforge announced Coforge Data Cosmos, an AI-enabled, cloud-native data engineering and advanced analytics platform, to enable enterprises to transform fragmented data landscapes into intelligent, high-performing data ecosystems. At its core, Coforge Data Cosmos is structured around five strategic technology solution portfolios — Supernova, Nebula, Hypernova, Pulsar, and Quasar — that guide enterprises across the full data transformation lifecycle.

Huawei unveiled its AI Data Platform, designed to address the key challenges in adopting AI agents and strengthen the data foundation for enterprise digital and intelligent transformation. The solution integrates the knowledge base, KV cache, and memory bank, and is coordinated by UCM. This platform enables enterprise AI agents to move beyond demonstrations and become real production tools.

insightsoftware announced the launch of Simba Intelligence, an AI Semantic Platform that delivers trusted, verifiable answers from live enterprise data. The solution is built for how AI is actually used in production today, whether embedded inside customer-facing applications, powering internal decision-making, or accessed directly by AI models and agents. Flexible deployment options, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid, let organizations adopt production-ready AI without vendor lock-in or compliance trade-offs.

Postman announced a significant evolution of its API platform, introducing AI-native, git-based API workflows and API Catalog, a central system of record that provides a single view of APIs and services. With this release, Postman enables users to accelerate API development with AI embedded directly into the core, all while preserving existing enterprise workflows, delivering centralized visibility, and meeting modern security demands.

Prismatic announced the AI Copilot for its Embedded Workflow Builder (EWB). The AI Copilot brings natural-language automation directly to end users, allowing them to build and customize integrations simply by describing what they want and then visually validate and refine workflows in real time. Technical teams can save time, and less technical users can more quickly and easily create integrations without needing to code.

RecordPoint announced the availability of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server. The solution allows any AI system, including copilots, agents, or custom LLM apps, to safely access governed, compliant data from the RecordPoint platform without custom integrations or elevated permissions. By standardizing how AI systems discover and use governed resources, the RecordPoint MCP Server eliminates data fragmentation and accelerates AI adoption.

Teramind announced Teramind AI Governance, a platform to extend enterprise-grade behavioral oversight to every AI tool and autonomous agent. The solution produces continuous, automatic audit trails across SOX, HIPAA, CMMC, FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and the EU AI Act. Key capabilities include complete prompt and response logging, visual evidence capture via screen recording and OCR, full transcripts of autonomous agent activity, behavioral detection of shadow AI by execution pattern rather than signature, and automatic enforcement of existing security policies against AI agents.

Partnerships, collaborations, and more

Red Hat announced that Telenor has chosen Red Hat’s cloud-native and AI platforms to power its sovereign AI factory, powered by NVIDIA. The solution offers high-performance hardware and AI models while maintaining national control over data and processes. With this collaboration, Red Hat and Telenor AI Factory intend to make it faster and easier for organizations to realize AI business value by smoothing the flow from AI blueprints to actual production.

CoreWeave announced that it has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with Perplexity to support its inference workloads on CoreWeave Cloud and pilot new services across both organizations. Under the agreement, Perplexity will power its next-generation inference workloads on CoreWeave’s platform that uses dedicated NVIDIA GB200 NVL72-powered clusters. CoreWeave will also roll out Perplexity Enterprise Max across its organization, enabling employees to search the web and internal knowledge, run deep multi-step research, visualize and analyze data, and work with the most advanced AI models available — all within one platform.

Geo Orchestration AI today announced a strategic pilot with Skymantics to operationalize privacy-first “Future Population” intelligence on the Anna orchestration platform. The pilot integrates Skymantics’ DataGenesis engine with Anna, creating a repeatable blueprint for transforming static baseline data into forward-looking, synthetic population intelligence that can be governed and delivered through natural language workflows. The initiative demonstrates a foundational capability for enterprise AI, turning projected, longitudinal population data into governed, explainable decision support that organizations can trust.

MinIO announced AIStor Table Sharing, a capability built into MinIO AIStor that allows enterprises to securely share their on-premises data directly with the Databricks platform for instant access to fresh data for real-time analytics and intelligence. AIStor natively integrates the Delta Sharing open protocol. AIStor Table Sharing embeds Delta Sharing directly into the object store. As such, Table Sharing enables federated, enterprise-scale analytics without data movement, copies, or lock-in.

Mirantis announced validation of Supermicro’s modular server architecture with Mirantis k0rdent, automating operations for sovereign AI and hybrid GPU cloud environments. The validation provides AI data center builders and neoclouds with a verified, Kubernetes-native stack for deploying and operating GPU-accelerated infrastructure at scale.
