The Open Semantic Interchange initiative has been accepted into the Apache Incubator and renamed to “Apache Ossie.” The initiative, which launched last year with Snowflake, Salesforce, dbt Labs, and others, aims to create a universal semantic data framework for all companies to standardize their fragmented data definitions with an open, vendor-neutral specification.
The effort is a vendor-neutral, open specification (YAML-based) that gives business metrics, dimensions, and their relationships a machine-readable format, so that any BI tool, query engine, or AI agent can work from the same agreed-upon definition of a metric like “Monthly Active Users” rather than interpreting it differently across systems.
Operating under the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) means consensus-driven, vendor-neutral governance – no single company calls the shots. The project’s mentors include ASF veterans who guided Apache Iceberg and Apache Polaris through the same process.

Teradata announced the Teradata Autonomous Knowledge Platform is now generally available for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The Platform is a single enterprise stack that lets organizations run agentic AI where their data already lives, on their terms, at costs that reflect how agents actually work.
Key Platform Components Include:
- Teradata Cloud, available now on Amazon Web Services (AWS), is uniquely built for the agentic era, addressing agentic AI challenges of price for performance.
- Teradata Factory, available now, is for organizations where data sovereignty is preferred or required, bringing together analytics, AI, lakehouse capabilities, governance, and agentic workflows in a single, fully integrated system.
- Teradata AI Studio, available now on AWS and Teradata Factory, unifies analytics, models, agents, and vector services, so customers no longer need to source and manage those capabilities separately.
- Teradata AI Services identifies high-value use cases, builds agent-driven solutions, and puts AI into production, maximizing business outcomes from AI investments.
Alation announced the introduction of Alation Intelligence Operating System (AIOS). The solution is an operating system designed to help enterprises govern AI as they build and deploy it across their most critical business operations. The AIOS platform provides organizations with the ability to build trusted agents grounded in governed enterprise knowledge; improve regulatory compliance through governed data and AI workflows; control context, lineage, and access so every AI-driven decision holds up under scrutiny; ask data questions in plain language and get answers grounded in trusted data; and govern AI by use case.
BMC Software announced new capabilities that enable AI agents and assistants to securely access actionable intelligence and interact with enterprise workflows across mainframe, cloud, and hybrid environments. The announcement includes new Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities to allow organizations to connect AI agents to production workflows and live operational data while maintaining the governance, visibility, policy controls, and human oversight required for mission-critical operations.
CData Software announced that CData Connect AI now provides a governed AI data layer built for HIPAA-regulated environments, enabling healthcare providers, payers, life sciences organizations, and healthcare technology companies to securely connect AI applications and agents to protected health information (PHI). To deliver these capabilities, Connect AI provides a governed access layer that connects AI applications directly to live enterprise systems, without replicating or exposing sensitive data.
Denodo announced the availability of Denodo Platform 9.5. The new release makes trusted enterprise context easier to define, operationalize, and reuse. To that end, the release strengthens the semantic and contextual intelligence within the Denodo Platform while simplifying how teams build, manage, and share trusted data products across the enterprise. New features include an expanded enterprise knowledge graph within the Denodo Data Marketplace, enhanced reasoning ability for Denodo Assistant to streamline data-view development, and expanded connectivity across the data and AI ecosystem.
Entrust announced the Agentic AI Trust Accelerator, a co-development program that will bring together enterprises and integration partners to build the identity and trust infrastructure needed to move autonomous AI projects from pilot to production. Entrust capabilities in identity verification, cryptographic identity, and lifecycle management for keys, certificates, and secrets are fundamental to extending trust and governance for autonomous agents acting across applications, systems, and organizational boundaries.
Port announced Port AI Builder, a purpose-built vibe coding experience designed for platform engineering and development teams. It allows teams to create and operate agentic workflows in natural language, with built-in human-in-the-loop review and approval. This enables organizations to reliably infuse AI agents across the SDLC while maintaining governance and visibility. The solution builds on Port’s Agentic SDLC Platform, which provides the context lake, workflow orchestration, agent management, and governance enterprises need to operationalize AI-SDLC.
Red Hat announced that Red Hat OpenShift 4.22 is now generally available. The release incorporates the Red Hat build of Karpenter for AWS, dynamically right-sizing compute instances and integrating AWS Spot Instances. With this release, Red Hat introduces the JobSet Operator to coordinate complex, large-scale distributed training and LLM fine-tuning so expensive GPU resources don’t go to waste. Additionally, support for confidential containers on bare metal is now GA, letting enterprises run highly sensitive AI models inside hardware-encrypted enclaves.
SnapLogic announced the general availability of SnapCode and the SnapLogic MCP Server, extending its Agentic Integration Platform to AI coding environments. Together, the new capabilities enable enterprise builders to generate, deploy, and govern production-ready integrations directly from the AI coding environment they already use, helping organizations accelerate AI application development without sacrificing enterprise governance, security, or operational reliability.
Thinking Machines Lab developed a platform that lets anyone customize models, previewed an AI system built for interactive collaboration, and published novel research. To that end, the company released a model trained from scratch with the full weights available, so that people can make it their own. The model, called Inkling, is a Mixture-of-Experts transformer with 975B total parameters, 41B active. It supports a context window of up to 1M tokens. It was pretrained on 45 trillion tokens of text, images, audio, and video.
Partnerships, collaborations, and more
3M and Microsoft announced a strategic partnership focused on AI data center infrastructure and enterprise transformation. Microsoft’s Azure cloud and AI infrastructure will become the first announced hyperscale cloud provider to deploy 3M’s Expanded Beam Optical (EBO) technology. 3M will also use Microsoft’s AI and digital platforms as part of its enterprise transformation across key business functions.
Accenture and Quantexa announced a strategic partnership to help banking enterprises close the gap between AI ambition and production reality. The two firms’ multi-year Enterprise Strategic Partnership is based on dedicated teams, joint intellectual property, and technology delivery across banking and the public sector in the United States, UK, Europe and the Middle East. The collaboration aims to help organizations build the trusted data and context foundation that makes enterprise AI transformation real.
Cloudera announced a strategic partnership with VAST Data to deliver a unified AI factory, a scalable production environment where data is continuously ingested, refined, governed, and delivered to AI models for training and inference. The collaboration integrates Cloudera’s next-generation containerized data services with the VAST AI Operating System. The solution makes use of the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference design, which turns latent enterprise data into AI-ready data that fuels the AI factory.
Intel and Google Cloud announced an expansion of their previously announced multi-year strategic collaboration, which would accelerate Intel’s enterprise-wide digital evolution through the deployment of Gemini Enterprise and Google Cloud. Work under this collaborative effort will integrate advanced, Gemini-powered generative AI across its global workforce, helping to scale capabilities and bolster traditional workflows across engineering, supply chain, and corporate operations.
