Trump: Artificial Intelligence Should Have Morals

Donald Trump has an opinion on just about everything, including artificial intelligence.

Oct 28, 2015

In an interview with Breitbart, Trump stated he has “always been concerned about the social breakdown of our culture caused by technology. I think the increased dependence and addiction to electronic devices is unhealthy. Of course, these trends tend to swing like a pendulum, so I am confident we will find a balance along the way.”

As for artificial intelligence, it can either be a “scalpel or a chainsaw,” he said. “Creators and users alike should always consider the ethical and moral consequences of all activities. If we lose our way morally, we are doomed as a society.”

We’ve covered 14 use cases for artificial intelligence in the Internet of Things, including many in health care such as robots making medical decisions. A copy of the white paper can be found here.
