Smart Utility Systems walked away with a Golden Bridge Award last month after their customer engagement platform, Smart Customer Mobile (SCM) was honored as the Energy Industry Innovator of the year at a Nov 16 event.

Smart Customer Mobile  allows utility companies to establish real-time connections to their customers. With 12 customizable modules and access through the web and mobile devices, SCM says that companies using its platform can quickly respond to service calls and alert customers to service issues such as leaks and outages, educate customers with customized alerts, and analyze customer behavior including usage patterns and payment history.

Customers can also use Smart Customer Mobile to track their energy or water usage and easily pay their bills. The platform also supports predictive analytics to reduce maintenance and repair costs, manage peak load, and reduce and streamline customer service costs and time.

The SCM platform was first released in 2011 and this past June, the company partnered with SAP® Multichannel Foundation for Utilities and Public Sector software.
