MLCommons announced new results for its industry-standard MLPerf Inference v6.1 benchmark suite. This release, which set a new high-water mark for the number of submitting organizations, introduces two new tests aligned with recent AI inference deployment trends. It also features the first peer-reviewed performance results for several recently released or soon-to-be-released AI platforms, demonstrating up to a 5.7X performance gain compared to just one year ago.

This round of the benchmark highlights the rapid evolution of AI technology and deployments, with submitted systems representing a range of hardware options across accelerators, boards, workstations, and servers. The results include five new processors or accelerators: AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, AMD Instinct MI350P, and Intel Arc Pro B70 are all available, and NVIDIA Rubin and NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 is in preview. They also include the largest system ever submitted to the MLPerf Inference benchmark, with 512 accelerators and two novel heterogeneous systems.

MLPerf Inference v6.1 introduced two new tests to the suite that reflect the industry’s evolution towards more complex, multi-step, and agentic deployments of AI inference technology, both in the datacenter and at the edge.

  • The End-to-End Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) benchmark tests a complex pipeline of multiple distinct AI models for question answering. More information on the End-to-End RAG benchmark is available here.
  • The Edge Agentic Inference benchmark reflects the shift from single-shot interactions toward complex multi-turn workloads such as agentic coding. More information on the Edge Agentic Inference benchmark is available here.

Real-time analytics news in brief

Acceldata announced the launch of xFactory, a private AI software factory to build, test, and deploy AI agents, applications, and analytics across hybrid enterprise environments. xFactory runs on xLake, which unifies data and AI agent workloads across any infrastructure. Enterprises can treat their on-premises, cloud, sovereign, and edge data as one estate. As such, Acceldata brings governed access and compute to the data, so xFactory can build on the full estate without consolidating it.

Alation announced six AIOS components extending the intelligence operating system’s ability to govern data, context, and agents across any enterprise system or data application. The six products, AI Governance, Ontologies, Intelligent Feeds, Console, Governed Collections, and Semantic Model Mastering, build upon the company’s foundation in expanding governance, enriching context, and extending reach across the enterprise stack. 

Cockroach Labs introduced Cockroach Continuum, which lets enterprises operate their entire database estate as one elastic system. Continuum delivers utility-grade economics to the database estate as AI applications proliferate. It pools capacity across the fleet, automates operations, and prices the work performed rather than the peak capacity provisioned.

Coder announced Claude Code support with Coder’s new Agent Relay, the self-hosted execution environment for cloud coding agents launched last week. This integration enables running Claude Code agents inside Coder workspaces on the customer’s own infrastructure: network-governed, sandboxed, and fully auditable. Anthropic continues to handle billing and run the agent loop, while everything the agent touches lives on machines the customer controls.

DataCebo released SDV 2.0, software that lets an organization build a generative relational model of its own databases. DataCebo calls this new class of models generative relational models. Trained from scratch, the model learns the database as a connected whole, capturing the statistical patterns, data structure, relationships, context, and business rules embedded in the data and spanning its tables. 

Fivetran + dbt Labs announced the general availability of dbt v2 and dbt State, delivering new levels of speed and cost optimization, and introduced Fivetran Context Layer, new dbt Wizard experiences, dbt Charts, and an open lakehouse vision for greater flexibility across storage and compute. Combined, the solutions let organizations independently choose and evolve their storage, compute, data movement, transformation, and visualization technologies at every layer.

Redgate Software announced Redgate Assistant, its purpose-built AI assistant for database professionals. Unlike general-purpose AI tools that require users to provide database context manually, Redgate Assistant understands the database environment and task at hand, helping professionals investigate issues, understand unfamiliar databases, improve code and complete routine work faster.

Smarsh unveiled a major expansion of its Communications Intelligence Platform. The launch includes a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, a conversational AI intelligence layer called AskSmarsh AI, and expanded agentic capabilities, together marking a structural shift in how regulated industries access and act on communications data. 

Spinnaker Support announced new PostgreSQL offerings designed to help enterprises reduce Oracle database dependency, modernize at their own pace, and move toward a standard PostgreSQL destination without new vendor lock-in. The offering gives customers a way to begin modernizing selected workloads, expand future flexibility, and reduce Oracle database dependency without disrupting the critical systems their business still depends on.

VDURA announced VDURA Sentinel, a proactive support capability included with the VDURA Data Platform V12. Sentinel continuously reads health, capacity, and alert telemetry from each system and compares it against failure patterns VDURA has resolved across thousands of systems in the field. When a pattern matches, the VDURA support team receives a plain-language summary, a trend view, and a recommended action.

Partnerships, collaborations, and more

Aiven, Confluent, Redpanda, StreamNative, and Ververica announced the formation of the Streamhouse Working Group and published an open, vendor-neutral definition of Streamhouse, a data architecture designed to keep the current state of a business continuously available to production applications, analytics, and AI agents.

The Streamhouse architecture enables organizations to capture, transport, transform, govern, and serve the current state of their business continuously so that production applications and AI agents can act on it. The architecture is defined by three attributes:

  • Real-time: Data remains continuously current as business events occur, rather than being refreshed only through periodic batch processes.
  • Production-native: The architecture is engineered to production service levels because business-critical applications, analytics, and agents depend on it continuously.
  • Decentralized: It meets data where it already lives rather than requiring all enterprise data to be consolidated into a single system first.

Alteryx announced a technology alliance with Golden Analytics to give organizations a faster, more intuitive way to investigate business questions while maintaining the governance and context required for trusted answers. By bringing together Alteryx’s governed data workflows and business logic with Golden Analytics’ AI-native analytical capabilities, the alliance helps analysts and business teams spend less time on the mechanics of working with data and more time exploring questions, uncovering insights, and making decisions.

Ambarella and ZEDEDA announced a strategic partnership to bring secure, cloud-orchestrated AI to the devices where the physical world meets AI, including in cameras, robots, vehicles, industrial systems, and edge appliances. Through this collaboration, ZEDEDA’s open-source EVE-OS, governed by the Linux Foundation, now runs on Ambarella’s N1 family of edge generative AI SoCs, and ZEDEDA’s Edge Intelligence Platform can deploy, update, and operate AI models directly on Ambarella’s power-efficient AI acceleration hardware.

Artefact announced an expanded partnership with OneTrust in North America. The alliance brings together OneTrust’s industry-defining AI-Ready Governance Platform with Artefact’s frontier AI deployment expertise and purpose-built AI Risk & Data Trust practice, creating a combined capability set built to support organizations managing the regulatory and operational demands now facing enterprise AI programs.

OpenText Corporation and Cohere announced a strategic partnership to bring trusted agentic AI to governments and regulated industries. Together, OpenText and Cohere provide complementary layers of the AI stack for the agentic enterprise. As the data and context layer, OpenText unlocks enterprise data, including unstructured, operational, and transactional data, and gives agentic AI the context it needs. Cohere provides the application and orchestration layer through North, its secure, privately deployable agentic AI platform.

Rockwell Automation announced it has joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, a global initiative designed to help secure the world’s most critical software and strengthen cyber resilience across critical infrastructure. Through controlled access to Claude Mythos 5, Rockwell security teams are exploring ways to accelerate the discovery, validation, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities across software and connected systems that manufacturers rely on every day.

Splunk, a Cisco company, announced expanded AI collaborations with NVIDIA and AWS focused on helping customers deploy and secure AI at scale. With NVIDIA, Splunk announced the general availability of AI Tier and Cisco AI POD for Splunk. The new offerings enable Splunk Enterprise customers to run AI assistants, supported models, and agentic workflows where their data resides, including on-premises, in private cloud, and in air-gapped environments. Splunk also expanded its work with AWS through a long-term product development collaboration focused on helping security teams respond to AI-driven threats faster, while maintaining analyst oversight, policy-driven governance and control.
