About Michael O’Connell

Michael O'Connell is the Chief Analytics Officer at TIBCO Software, developing analytic solutions across several industries including Energy, Hi-Tech Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Transport & Logistics and Telco, Media & Networks. Michael’s current work comes at the confluence of data management and analytics software with customers' business problems. Solving business problems with data management, data science and visual analytics is Michael’s biggest passion. He believes that business value comes from providing a smart software user experience to find insights and enabling users to deploy those insights into action in event-enabled architectures and business processes. Michael has been working on statistical software applications for the past 20 years and has published more than 50 papers and several software packages on statistical methods. Michael did his Ph.D. in Statistics at North Carolina State University and is an Adjunct Professor of Statistics in the department.
