In this week’s real-time analytics news: Hazelcast announced the Hazelcast Platform, a single platform for transactional, operational, and analytical workloads.

Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here are some of the news items from this week:

Hazelcast announced the new Hazelcast Platform, enterprise software capable of serving as a single platform for transactional, operational, and analytical workloads. The Hazelcast Platform combines the capabilities of a real-time stream processing engine with in-memory computing to deliver a simplified architecture that is highly performant, scalable, and reliable. The Hazelcast Platform simplifies application development and maintenance. It can act as a single data layer and access point for applications to call upon. This benefit is possible because of the library of connectors from Hazelcast. From MongoDB to Redis Labs to Snowflake, Hazelcast develops and maintains each connector to ensure high performance, reliability, and security, so developers only need to build the application against Hazelcast. The Hazelcast Platform is available today in beta with the expectation that it generally becomes available in August 2021. As part of the company’scollaboration with IBM, features from the Hazelcast Platform will also be made available through the Hazelcast Platform for IBM Cloud Paks, an integrated software offering that runs on Red Hat OpenShift.

Cockroach Labs announced the general availability of CockroachDB on Kubernetes, providing users with a custom, open-source Kubernetes Operator. CockroachDB was architected and built from the ground up for deployment in distributed environments and is a natural fit for Kubernetes. With the addition of the Operator, key functionality for deployment, management, and maintenance of the database is now automated. This release makes it easy and effective for teams at any skill level to run a relational database on Kubernetes.

Snowflake announced support for Unified ID 2.0 to help organizations enrich audience data without sharing consumers’ personally identifiable information (PII). Initially developed by The Trade Desk, Unified ID 2.0 is an open-source, identity solution that preserves the value of relevant advertising audience data for the brands, agencies, publishers, data partners, and data platforms while giving consumers more control over the use of their data. As Unified ID 2.0 leverages the secure data sharing technology in the Snowflake Data Marketplace, it will provide an alternative to third-party cookies and a potential replacement for traditional APIs and email integration solutions.

Xero announced Analytics Plus, part of a new suite of planning and forecasting tools powered by artificial intelligence and designed to help businesses and advisors plan with confidence. Xero Analytics Plus combines cash flow forecasting featuring advanced predictions and insightful business reporting tools, directly available in Xero. Xero has also officially released Analytics, a free tool for all Xero Business Edition subscribers that combines the existing short-term cash flow tool, which visually projects cash flow over 30 days, and the business snapshot tool, providing up to date insights on their business performance.

EZOPS announced a new solution that helps financial institutions eliminate the hidden risk and inefficiencies of end user-defined technologies (EUDT). EZOPS provides a controlled and secure alternative to EUDT that are used to manually onboard, aggregate, transform, enrich or reconcile data, and manage business processes. EZOPS’ solution eliminates key person dependency and features automation that drives efficiency for repeatable activities such as fetching, validating, transforming, calculating data, and informing and instructing workflow.

Deci announced the discovery of a family of image classification models dubbed DeciNets. Deci’s proprietary Automated Neural Architecture Construction (AutoNAC) technology discovered DeciNets using roughly two orders of magnitude less computing power than Google-scale Neural Architecture Search (NAS) technologies, the latter having been used to uncover well-known and powerful neural architectures like EfficientNet. AutoNAC is hardware-aware, meaning that it can squeeze maximum performance out of any hardware and deploy models in any environment (cloud, edge, and mobile).

SchemaHero announced support for CockroachDB, making it easier for developers to deploy schema updates to the popular database. Written as both a CLI utility and a Kubernetes Operator, SchemaHero makes database schemas declarative, eliminates the task of creating and managing sequenced migration scripts. The tool also supports writing a YAML-defined schema and deploying it to the SchemaHero operator, after which the operator can query the current CockroachDB schema, determine the changes necessary, and generate CockroachDB-compatible migration scripts for developers to approve and apply.

Next Pathway Inc. announced enhancements to its cloud migration products, including Crawler360, the SHIFT Migration Suite, and SHIFT Tester. The company has also formed strategic partnerships with additional Global System Integrators (GSIs) to deliver a complete migration offering and has licensed SHIFT, its automated migration tool, to leading technology companies such as Informatica.

Illumio announced new innovations in Illumio Core which automate, accelerate, and simplify the path to a Zero Trust posture. Cyberattacks and ransomware are most successful when they break through the perimeter and move, often undetected, throughout an organization. Illumio Core locks this movement down. New advancements in Illumio Core allow organizations to automate security enforcement, gain even more intelligent insights from real-time application data, and operate at cloud scale.

Aerospike Inc. announced a significant expansion of its Accelerate Partner Program. Expanded offerings include a solutions lab, migration factory, and the Ignite Go-to-Market Workshop, which identifies, designs, and delivers real-time data offerings and opportunities with partners.
