Cloudera announced the launch of Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) One, an all-in-one data lakehouse software as a service (SaaS) offering for fast and easy self-service analytics and exploratory data science on any type of data. CDP One has built-in enterprise security and machine learning (ML) that requires zero cloud, security, or monitoring operations staff. It is designed to make both data practitioners and expert developers more productive.

Red Hat announced a new iteration of Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus, with new features and capabilities that go beyond the base Kubernetes platform to encompass storage, management, and more. Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus is engineered to provide a more consistent foundation for organizations to drive transformational IT standardization. The newest offering includes the necessary tools to build, protect, and manage applications throughout the software lifecycle and across Kubernetes clusters more simply. These underlying technology updates include:

  • Red Hat OpenShift 4.11
  • Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes 2.6
  • Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation 4.11

integrate.ai announced the availability of its privacy-preserving machine learning and analytics platform. The platform leverages federated learning and differential privacy technologies to unlock a range of machine learning and analytics capabilities on data that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access due to privacy, confidentiality, or technical hurdles. 

data.world announced Eureka Explorer Lineage, a new automated column-level technical lineage experience powered by data.world’s knowledge graph. Explorer Lineage enables all members of an organization’s data team to make data-driven decisions faster with full visibility into the modern data stack. With an easy-to-follow, interactive user interface, Explorer Lineage can show where data is sourced, how it’s aggregated, and any transformations it undergoes along its journey.

Botco.ai announced the launch of Instachat Builder, a new product that accelerates AI chat deployment by allowing Botco.ai customers to directly train Botco.ai’s chatbot on any type of text information. With This approach enables teams to launch intelligent chatbots immediately — thereby speeding up deployment, boosting response rates, and reducing fallbacks.

CircleCI announced the general availability of the CircleCI Visual Configuration Editor, an all-in-one open-source project for configuration editing, including creating component definitions and usages. The solution is a drag-and-drop node-based graphical editor giving teams the ability to create a configuration from scratch, easily upload and edit existing config.yaml files, and visualize and streamline large, complex workflows. 

Verge.io has added significant new features to its Verge-OS software to give users the performance of GPUs as virtualized, shared resources. Verge-OS abstracts compute, network, and storage from commodity servers and creates pools of raw resources that are simple to run and manage. This allows the creation of infrastructures for environments and workloads like clustered HPC, DevOps and Test/Dev, remote and edge compute, and more.

Celebrus released its no-party data technology, Celebrus CX Vault, which allows customers to keep their information private and brands to deliver the relevant messages that customers expect in real-time. No-party data is defined as information gathering that does not use tracking, sharing, or cookies of any kind. It allows users to remain anonymous. With Celebrus’ solution, a user stays anonymous throughout an entire session, and no information is ever shared, saved, stored, or sent to a server. Instead, Celebrus CX Vault recognizes the context of a browsing session in real time and then applies machine learning to further determine and interpret user interest.

Real-time analytics news in brief

Arcion announced a new product release that extends the platform’s capabilities to include a native log reader with Oracle databases, automated DDL-based schema evolution, and streaming column transformations. Combined with the end-to-end multi-threaded architectural design, Arcion is able to bring a 10x faster log extraction experience to Oracle users. The company also has expanded its range of source and target connectivity to include BigQuery, Azure-managed SQL Server, and Imply.

InterSystems announced a series of new releases to its InterSystems IRIS data platform. Recent releases of InterSystems IRIS include new capabilities and enhancements that speed and simplify the creation of smart data fabric architectures, including Embedded Python and IntegratedML, as well as a new facility that lets data analysts and data scientists collaborate easily. Further enhancements have also been made to performance and scalability to handle high throughput and high-performance transactional-analytic use cases and to Adaptive Analytics, which provides self-service capabilities.

Pinecone Systems announced the release of new features and enhancements that make it easier for developers — regardless of AI or ML experience and background — to get started with vector search for applications such as semantic search and recommendation systems. New features include up to 10x faster indexes, flexible collections of vector data, and zero-downtime vertical scaling.

Datadog announced expanded monitoring for Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure database platforms. With this expanded support, engineers and database administrators can quickly pinpoint and address database performance issues such as costly and slow queries, incorrect indexes in SQL Server or Azure databases, and bottlenecks in their applications.

Coalesce announced its successful completion of a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 examination resulting in a CPA’s report stating that management of Coalesce maintained adequate controls over the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy (AICPA, Trust Services Criteria) of the Coalesce Platform. The recent SOC 2 Type 2 report performed by BARR Advisory, P.A. provides third-party validations of Coalesce’s focus on privacy and security in data management.

HYCU announced it is releasing a free backup service providing a simple, always-on backup and disaster recovery of AWS EC2 instances. This fully managed service offloads manual operations and gives users 24/7 protection with recovery in minutes. Specifically, the solution is a native backup and disaster recovery service that offers additional protection for AWS workloads. It provides customers the ability to offload all backup and disaster recovery operations as a fully automated service.

Lumen Technologies announced it is now offering Lumen Edge Virtual Machines (VM), giving businesses access to on-demand compute, storage, and secure networking, to run next-generation applications with high performance and at scale. Lumen Edge VM offers shared, multi-tenant servers hosted in Lumen edge facilities. It can be managed through Lumen Edge Orchestrator, alongside other Lumen edge services and public cloud services from AWS, Microsoft, and Google.

Kore.ai announced plans to widen the availability of its solution to companies of all sizes. Kore.ai’s secure and scalable no-code platform, known as the Kore.ai Experience Optimization (XO) Platform, enables businesses to design, build, test, and deploy conversational virtual assistants and process apps with minimal technical know-how or support. The goal of the expansion is to empower small and medium businesses (SMBs) startups and the broader developer community by offering the platform’s do-it-yourself (DIY) functionalities for driving AI adoption.

WSO2 announced WSO2 Private CIAM Cloud, a solution that enables a secure, frictionless customer experience that goes beyond B2C to offer extensive customer identity and access management (CIAM) support for B2B scenarios. WSO2 Private CIAM Cloud is part of WSO2’s CIAM suite, which includes open-source WSO2 Identity Server software. WSO2 also introduced WSO2 Identity Server 6.0. The releases offer new features, including integration with third-party analytics tools, integration with TypingDNA for authentication based on typing biometrics, multi-attribute log-in support, and device flow support to bring CIAM to a broader range of devices.

Partnerships, collaborations, and more

Microsoft and Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, have announced native .NET availability starting in Ubuntu 22.04 hosts and containers. This collaboration between .NET and Ubuntu aims to better secure the software supply chain to provide enterprise-grade support. Now, .NET developers can install the ASP.NET and .NET SDK runtimes from Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with a single “apt install” command. Additionally, Canonical released new, ultra-small OCI-compliant appliance images, without a shell or package manager, for both the .NET 6 LTS and ASP.NET runtimes.

Prefect Technologies announced its partnership with Databricks to provide data engineers, data scientists, and analytics engineers the ability to automate dataflows for even the most data-intensive organizations and applications. The Databricks Lakehouse Platform combined with Prefect’s data workflow orchestration platform provides data teams will greater performance, reliability, and visibility into their data.

MariaDB announced it has joined the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) following its acquisition of geospatial solutions provider CubeWerx. MariaDB is raising the CubeWerx membership to technical committee member level. Through the OGC, MariaDB will work with the geospatial community to advance open geospatial standards to make information Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR).

Tata Consultancy Services has partnered with Five Star Bank, a subsidiary of Financial Institutions, Inc., on its digital transformation journey, helping it determine lending risk and deliver hyper-personalized customer experiences. TCS will leverage its AI-powered Customer Intelligence & Insights (CI&I) analytics platform’s real-time contextual engagement capabilities to help the bank avoid attrition blind spots and drive omnichannel customer personalization.

ManageEngine announced the integration between its key and certificate lifecycle management solution, Key Manager Plus, and Sectigo, an identity-first security Certificate Authority. The integration enables IT admins using Sectigo certificates to confidently automate the entire certificate lifecycle from a secure, central platform.

Melissa announced a partnership with ID-Pal. Collaboration between the two companies has resulted in Melissa ID, a fully-customizable, out-of-the-box SaaS solution using a multi-layered approach that includes biometrics, facial matching, liveness testing, address verification, and document checks for automated identity verification. Melissa ID is ideal for all types of businesses charged with reducing costs associated with customer acquisition, operations, fulfillment, and fraud. 

OpenDrives and Zmanda, a BETSOL company, announced a partnership introducing a container-native enterprise backup and recovery (EBR) solution that is highly performant, scalable, and cost-effective. The joint solution integrates OpenDrives’s enterprise storage platform with Zmanda’s Enterprise EBR software to provide on-storage containerization that brings EBR software closer to the backed-up and archived data. This functionality powers highly performant throughput rates at 15 GB/s to significantly cut recovery time while also eliminating the need for additional hardware investment.
