The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) announced a new artificial intelligence institute to focus on the speech language pathology needs of children. The need for speech and language services has been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic due to a widening gap in services available to children. The AI Institute for Exceptional Education aims to close this gap by developing advanced AI technologies to scale the availability of speech language pathology services so that every child in need has access. The institute is supported by a $20 million grant from NSF and the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences to the University at Buffalo.
Intel, NVIDIA, and its partners will work together to address AI computing efficiency. Timed with the launch of 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, NVIDIA and its partners have kicked off a new generation of accelerated computing systems that are built for energy-efficient AI. When combined with NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, these systems can deliver dramatically higher performance, greater scale, and higher efficiency than the prior generation, providing more computation and problem-solving per watt. Additionally, the new Intel CPUs will be used in NVIDIA DGX H100 systems, as well as in more than 60 servers featuring H100 GPUs from NVIDIA partners around the world.

Alation launched a Partner Program for Open Connector Framework to deliver connectivity to new data sources. The new program will build an ecosystem of partners to expand connectivity options using the Alation Open Connector Framework, an SDK to simplify the development of Alation connectors. Alation’s new partner program joins the Open Data Quality Initiative launched in 2022, further cementing the company’s ongoing commitment to open extensibility.
ARMO, which developed the end-to-end open-source Kubernetes security platform Kubescape, announced that Kubescape has been accepted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) as a sandbox project. ARMO will continue to lead the development of Kubescape as part of the company’s core mission: to make Kubernetes security a simple and trustworthy DevOps-first experience.
DataRobot announced the availability of DataRobot Notebooks, a fully integrated notebooks solution within the DataRobot AI platform that enables data scientists to collaborate across code-first workflows with one-click access to embedded notebooks. Additionally, DataRobot Notebooks streamlines the code development experience for data science workflows with an emphasis on automation, reproducibility, scalability, and collaboration.
DiffusionData, formerly known as Push Technology, announced the release of Diffusion 6.9, the Intelligent Data Platform that consumes, enriches, and delivers data among applications, systems, and devices. New features and enhancements in the new release include remote server reverse connection, initial connection retry strategy, improved metrics, and a gateway framework, which was previously released as a beta. Other improvements include communication between servers in a cluster now supports TLS. Also, there is a new connector ‘readiness’ condition that may be used to prevent a connector from being available until the persistence restore is complete.
groundcover launched Caretta, an OSS tool that helps teams instantly create a visual network map of the services running in their cluster. Caretta leverages eBPF technology to collect data in an efficient way and is equipped with a Grafana Node Graph dashboard to quickly display the dynamic map of the cluster. Caretta maps all service interactions and their traffic rates, leveraging Kubernetes APIs to create a clean and informative map of any K8s cluster which can be used for on-demand granular observability, cost optimization, and security insights, allowing teams to quickly reach impactful insights such as identifying central points of failure or pinpointing security anomalies.
Jitterbit announced the early release of Message Queue (MQ) Service, a cloud-based, multi-tenant message queuing service fully integrated into its Harmony Platform. By combining the power of integration, API management, EDI, no-code app development, and now, message queuing, Harmony enables customers across industries to accelerate digital transformation and hyperautomation initiatives by simplifying complex automations and speeding the deployment of new integrations. The company also announced new and enhanced pre-built integrations and native connectors.
Kore.ai announced the launch of RetailAssist, a conversational commerce assistant solution for the retail industry. By utilizing conversational AI technology, the solution helps retailers reposition business models through AI-driven automation and helps them implement next-generation customer and employee experiences to build loyalty and reduce churn. To that end, RetailAssist enables retail and eCommerce companies build competencies around self-service automation, personalization, omnichannel fulfillment, and 24/7 pre-/post-sales service and support. The solution also acts as an employee assistant to help retailers with onboarding, day-to-day operations, and customer support.
Lexalytics, an InMoment company, announced that it has improved accuracy and expanded NLP capabilities for 11 non-English languages it supports. Now, global brands and businesses can analyze unstructured data natively and benefit from full-featured text analytics to better understand their customers and make more informed decisions across 31 total languages.
New Relic announced the general availability of new error-tracking capabilities to help engineering teams proactively detect, triage, and take action on all errors across the full software stack before customers are impacted. These new capabilities expand the company’s integrated errors inbox solution to include a new user impact view, access to correlation data across traces and logs, and enhanced integration with Slack.
Ocient released version 21 of its Ocient Hyperscale Data Warehouse, adding geospatial and machine learning features. v21 focuses on Geospatial Data Analytics, adding 17 new functions to ingest and analyze complex geospatial data sets at a scale with high speed. The new version also supports Secondary Indexing, which brings comprehensive indexing at hyperscale, allowing users to search larger and more complex sets of data faster and for less cost than most. There are also new machine learning data models supported in v21.
PagerDuty announced the general availability of PagerDuty Status Pages, a new integrated feature that improves customer experience, reduces the burden on support teams, and eliminates the complexity preventing quick and proactive customer communications. Status Pages allow PagerDuty customers to proactively communicate status updates with their customers while keeping both internal technical teams and customer service teams informed.
UserTesting announced the availability of new test templates for the UserTesting Human Insight Platform that help retail banks build more user-friendly features and in-branch experiences and improve how customers engage and interact across channels and devices. The latest banking templates provide organizations with an easy way to understand and build empathy for their customers and target audiences in real time. With the UserTesting templates, retail banking teams can capture direct feedback from prospects and customers at each stage of their banking journey to get a true understanding of their customers’ needs, expectations, and reactions to the communications, products, and services their bank provides.

Apptio announced that it has acquired Cloudwiry, which offers multi-cloud savings automation and FinOps. Together, Cloudwiry and Apptio will empower thousands of customers all around the world to drive financial and operational excellence in cloud and hybrid environments with the market’s most mature and powerful platform. Cloudwiry will no longer operate as an independent company but will now be integrated into Apptio.
Crisp announced a new partnership and integration with Databricks to expand retail data access and analytical capabilities. With the Crisp integration, CPG brands can easily process and analyze retailer and distributor sales and inventory data within the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. Joint customers can access the latest retailer point-of-sale and supply chain data directly from their lakehouse utilizing the Delta Sharing feature to improve supply chain forecasting, prevent out-of-stocks, and expand distribution across retailers.
DataStax announced it has acquired Kaskada. Datastax will open source the core Kaskada technology initially, and it plans to offer a new machine learning cloud service later this year. The addition of Kaskada to DataStax’s portfolio of cloud services—which today includes the massively scalable Astra DB database-as-a-service built on Apache Cassandra and event streaming with Astra Streaming— will give organizations a single environment to easily and cost-effectively deliver applications infused with real-time AI, using an advanced ML/AI model.
Denodo announced that it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Data and Analytics ISV Competency status. Attaining this status differentiates Denodo as an AWS Partner that has successfully demonstrated deep expertise in data integration, management, and delivery of distributed data for business intelligence and advanced analytics for enterprise and medium-sized companies using AWS services.
Granulate, an Intel Company, announced certification for its real-time continuous performance optimization solution on Red Hat OpenShift. Its container certification allows customers to more confidently adopt Granulate as a fully containerized software to deploy in any compute environment. Additionally, Granulate is now listed on the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog and Red Hat Marketplace as a certified independent software vendor (ISV).
Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced an expansion to its AI-at-scale offerings with the acquisition of Pachyderm, a startup that delivers software based on open-source technology to automate reproducible machine learning pipelines that target large-scale AI applications. HPE will integrate Pachyderm’s reproducible AI capabilities in one integrated platform to deliver an advanced data-driven pipeline that automatically refines, prepares, tracks, and manages repeatable machine learning processes used throughout the development and training environment.
Kensu announced that it has partnered with Snowﬂake to better aid data practitioners in gaining full visibility into their real-time data with Snowﬂake’s data storage, processing, and analytics capabilities. The Kensu Platform, Powered by Snowﬂake, will offer enhanced analytics and master data management to joint customers.
Snowplow announced the acquisition of Sydney-based Poplin Data, Snowplow’s exclusive integration and enablement partner in Australia and New Zealand. Poplin Data has extensive Snowplow domain experience and a particular focus on media and retail marketing solutions. Acquiring Poplin Data will enable accelerated delivery of Snowplow Data Product Accelerators (DPAs), enabling customers and open-source users to build and deploy behavioral data-powered products and applications faster.
Venafi announced that VMware has integrated Venafi’s machine identity control plane into its Tanzu Service Mesh. The Venafi integration enables Tanzu users to integrate their Service Mesh with a trusted certificate authority (CA) of their choice to support mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) between Kubernetes clusters. The Venafi integration enhances the Tanzu Service Mesh by enabling organizations to automate the management of their machine identity lifecycles as part of their established CA trust chains. This increases observability and control while ensuring compliance in regulated industries.
