Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here are some of the news items from this week:

IBM Security announced new and enhanced services to help organizations manage cloud security across hybrid cloud environments. The services bring together cloud-native, IBM, and third-party technologies along with IBM expertise to help organizations create a unified security approach across their cloud ecosystems. IBM’s services can help companies assess current cloud security posture, as well as build and manage access, policies, and technical controls to safeguard new and existing cloud resources. The services leverage AI and automation to help identify and prioritize risks, respond to potential threats across an organization’s cloud environments and connect that data with their broader security operations and on-premises systems.

Alluxio announced the integration of RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark 3.0 with the Alluxio Data Orchestration Platform to accelerate data access on NVIDIA accelerated computing clusters. The solution is for the computation of both analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) pipelines. Validation testing of the integration for caching of large datasets and data availability for NVIDIA GPU processing showed 2x faster acceleration for a data analytics and business intelligence workload. At the same time, NVIDIA GPU clusters with Alluxio demonstrated 70% better return on investment (ROI) compared to CPU clusters.

Red Hat announced that the latest release of Red Hat Integration is now available. With this release, Red Hat continues to focus on strengthening the ability to respond faster, more efficiently, and more intelligently to the world. Now, customers can install, upgrade, and manage Red Hat Integration components using the new Red Hat Integration Operator for Red Hat OpenShift. This serves to improve the user experience by providing direct access to all Operators across Red Hat’s integration portfolio, from core products to auxiliary components. In addition to streamlining the customer experience with automated installs for change data capture and the service registry, Red Hat has tightened the connection between the two components so customers can automatically populate JSON and Apache Avro schema for discovery and enforcement. Lastly, Red Hat expanded the list of target databases with a new connector for IBM Db2. Customers can set their applications to detect changes to Db2 databases—as well as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server—and capture them for streaming processing.
