In this week’s real-time analytics news: IBM helps bring IBM Z into the DevOps pipeline, HPE enhances its end-to-end hybrid cloud analytics platform, and more.

Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here are some of the news items from this week:

IBM announced new IBM Wazi Analyze capabilities to help bring IBM Z into the DevOps pipeline, unlocking uniform, enterprise-wide agile delivery processes and standards with transferable skills for non-Z developers. The new capabilities are included in:

  • IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence (ADDI) for IBM Z V6 allows developers to accelerate application development and modernization by enabling them to efficiently gain granular insight into their business-critical application estate. With the new version of Wazi Analyze, you can get updated analysis immediately after the code change is made. ADDI v6 has been engineered to improve the Assembler support by helping developers analyze the multi-level of dynamic assembler macro calls. APIs are also made available to enable integration between the analysis and CI/CD pipeline.
  • New Analyze capability in IBM Wazi Developer V1.2, a subset of ADDI, helps enable developers to discover and analyze the relationships between components of their z/OS applications and understand the impact of a potential change. Wazi Analyze runs in a containerized environment to give developers the flexibility to run it in any environment.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced enhancements to its HPE Ezmeral software portfolio with new products and partnerships. The HPE Ezmeral portfolio provides an end-to-end hybrid cloud analytics platform that improves quality, repeatability, throughput, and time to value for AI/ML, analytics, and data-intensive workloads. New updates include:

  • HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric: Now available as a standalone offering in addition to being available as an integrated component of the HPE Ezmeral Container Platform and HPE Ezmeral Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops).
  • A new HPE Ezmeral Technology Ecosystem program, which includes ISVs such as Dataiku, MinIO, H2O.AI, Rapt.AI, Run:AI, Sysdig, and Unravel,  that have validated their applications on HPE Ezmeral, allowing customers to more rapidly create streamlined analytics environments.
  • A new HPE Ezmeral Marketplace available to customers that brings the top ISVs and open-source projects such as Apache Spark, Tensorflow, and many more, to enterprises looking to modernize their workloads to be cloud-native.

ADLINK Technology Inc. launched the LEC-IMX8MP SMARC module, a SMARC rev. 2.1 AI-on-Module (AIoM) that uses NXP’s next-generation i.MX 8M Plus SoC for edge AI applications. The LEC-IMX8MP integrates NXP NPU, VPU, ISP, and GPU computing in a compact size for real-time analytics and AI-based applications across industrial AIoT/ IoT, smart homes, smart cities, and beyond. The quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor with an integrated neural processing unit (NPU), delivering up to 2.3 Terra Operations Per Second (TOPS) for machine learning inference at the edge, suited for applications that require machine learning and vision systems paired with smart sensors. Targeted uses include smart homes and home automation, smart cities, logistics, healthcare diagnostics, smart buildings, smart retail, and industrial IoT, including machine vision, robotics, and factory automation.

Lenovo Data Center Group (DCG) announced new ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions to support edge-to-cloud computing. These solutions are designed to help organizations modernize their IT infrastructure and deliver faster data insights – all powered by the new AMD EPYC 7003 Series processors. Specifically optimized to run demanding cloud computing workloads such as VDI, database, and analytics, artificial intelligence, and more, these solutions have built-in security features to help protect against data integrity and firmware threats.

Dell Technologies introduced new Dell EMC PowerEdge servers to power autonomous infrastructure. The servers offer greater IT efficiency, embrace AI, and address the demands of IT at the edge. Optimizing the latest technologies from AMD and Intel, the new PowerEdge servers deliver the compute power needed for the most critical workloads and applications. Examples include the PowerEdge R6515, featuring 3rd Generation AMD EPYC processors, and the PowerEdge R750, with the upcoming 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. The latest portfolio features two all-new, accelerator-optimized servers. They include PowerEdge XE8545 for AI workloads and PowerEdge R750xa that delivers GPU-dense performance for machine learning training, inferencing, and AI with support for the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite.

Amazon Web Services announced the general availability of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) X2gd instances, the next generation of memory-optimized instances powered by AWS-designed, Arm-based Graviton2 processors. Together, the higher performance and additional memory of X2gd instances make it possible for customers to run memory-intensive workloads like in-memory databases more efficiently, relational databases, electronic design automation (EDA) workloads, real-time analytics, and real-time caching servers. There are no minimum commitments or up-front fees to use X2gd instances, and customers pay only for compute used.

Informatica announced the availability of its serverless, Spark-based Cloud Data Integration engine that offers accelerated performance using the NVIDIA RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark with NVIDIA accelerated computing. This gives users have access to end-to-end machine learning operations (MLOps) capabilities by operationalizing machine learning models and to the power of data management with the scalability and speed delivered by RAPIDS data science software and NVIDIA infrastructure.

TIBCO Software Inc. announced the addition of Apache Pulsar and Apache Kafka as a cloud service in TIBCO Cloud Messaging. A single subscription to TIBCO Cloud Messaging now includes Kafka and Pulsar, alongside TIBCO eFTL and TIBCO FTL, making it easier to deploy and manage messaging needs. Users can also publish and consume events in TIBCO Cloud Integration for integrating real-time event streams. This supports the development of a comprehensive digital platform that includes integration, API management, event streaming, and automation, all working together seamlessly in the cloud.

SiFive, Inc. announced ArchiTek’s first in-house developed AI processor, AiOnIc, featuring the ArchiTek Intelligence Pixel Engine (aIPE) and SiFive E3-Series RISC-V processor Core IP. The ArchiTek AiOnIc chip is developed to demonstrate an edge AI concept of processing sensor data in real-time to create meta-data for reduced latency of AI inference processing while offering increased security and privacy. The ArchiTek AiOnIc architecture was designed for use in Edge AI applications, offering a low-power, high-efficiency chip that enables fanless designs suitable for harsh environments.

Qlik announced that England’s largest NHS Trust, Barts Health, is launching a new analytics application that will empower its entire workforce to make data-driven decisions and transform outcomes for the organization. The WeInform application, powered by the Qlik Sense data analytics platform, enables over 16,000 employees, located across five hospitals and a number of community locations, to retrieve real-time insights to improve decision-making and support them in delivering the best possible patient care.

DataRobot unveiled significant upgrades to every product in its enterprise AI platform. These enhancements are designed to optimize the value seen through AI deployments and enable organizations to drive better business outcomes with AI. Enhancements include MLOps remote model challengers, choose your own forecast baseline, Visual AI image augmentation, and enhanced prediction preparation. Additional product upgrades include enhanced AutoML automatic bias and fairness testing. As part of the product upgrades, data prep now contains enhanced improved APF monitoring, automatic date transformations, and a new elastic Spark-based infrastructure; and MLOps now provides support for connecting to GitHub Enterprise and Bitbucket Server.

BigPanda, Inc. announced the availability of Automatic Incident Triage, a new platform component that significantly reduces the manual toil associated with the triage phase of incident management. Automatic Incident Triage reduces the “mean-time-to-resolve” (MTTR) for applications and services by enabling IT Ops and NOC teams to quickly triage incidents by reducing the steps required to fully understand the business context of an incident and assign it to the right response team within their desired collaboration platforms. 

Knoa Software announced the availability of its user experience management (UEM) product for Oracle Cloud applications. Knoa UEM for Oracle Cloud delivers analytics that answers key questions, resulting in the highest possible migration ROI and overall benefits. With Knoa, organizations can be confident that their usage of Oracle Cloud is truly optimized. Specifically, Knoa UEM for Oracle Cloud enables visibility into employee interactions with the Oracle Cloud applications, user adoption during a new rollout, the level of performance delivered to the end-user, the locations of process bottlenecks, and the cause of user experience issues with the software. This information, in turn, enables enterprises to optimize key processes around their Oracle Cloud for employee use and adoption.

Cisco announced an expanded collaboration with AMD to help businesses accelerate advanced digital experiences and improve hybrid cloud operations. As a result of the collaboration, they introduced the Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) rack server models with AMD EPYCTM 7003 Processors designed to support modern workloads. The new models include the Cisco UCS C225 M6 and the Cisco UCS C245 M6 Rack Servers. The new UCS rack server models feature native integration with Cisco Intersight, a hybrid cloud platform enabling simpler management at global scale, and continuous SaaS-delivered innovations. Cisco Intersight makes it easier for customers to access and deploy innovative AMD EPYC features, such as Secure Encrypted Virtualization.

Kasada announced the general availability of its new V2 platform to address the increasing sophistication of bot attacks. The new defense platform provides real-time defense against advanced bots that are undetected by traditional methods. Specifically, the V2 defense platform is a modern anti-bot solution that stops attacks by preventing them from entering an organization’s infrastructure in the first place. It does so without reliance on rules, heuristics, or risk scoring. By adhering to a zero-trust philosophy, Kasada detects and stops malicious automation from the very first request, before it can do any damage. As bot operators evolve their tactics, including the use of new bots never seen before, Kasada detects with precision in real-time.

Aisera announced its AI Customer Service solution with on-demand 24/7 customer support and higher customer satisfaction ratings. Aisera’s AI Customer Service automates user requests for customer service, sales, marketing and commerce organizations. Aisera works with existing service cloud products such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Zendesk, and ServiceNow to deliver an end-to-end service experience for users. Aisera’s AI Customer Service improves Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) and Net Promoter Score (NPS) while drastically reducing support and operations costs.

Diamanti announced support for the Diamanti Ultima data plane on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Diamanti Spektra 3.2, enabling users to unleash the full value of hybrid cloud Kubernetes on GCP. Spektra 3.2 builds on Diamanti’s software platform to further simplify Kubernetes application and data management for both on-premises and in multi-cloud environments. Spektra 3.2 includes Ultima support on GCP, GA support for Cri-O, and other improvements that empower customers with a simpler, more efficient method to deploy Kubernetes across public cloud providers like GCP, AWS, and Microsoft Azure.

Mirato, provider of a third-party risk management (TPRM) platform, announced the availability of its platform for financial services institutions in the U.S., which includes a fully orchestrated operations dashboard and the Mirato Risk Hunter for real-time visibility into concentration risk. Mirato uses artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and sophisticated data harvesting to continuously collect and analyze data from the sources customers choose to monitor and turn that data into insights. Data is extracted from questionnaires, evidence documents, financial stability sources, cyber posture or the deep-web and turned into actionable insights about the bank’s online assets, fourth parties, people, locations, and other vulnerabilities.

Automation Anywhere and Google Cloud announced a strategic, multi-year collaboration to accelerate intelligent automation adoption with enterprises on a global scale. With this partnership, Automation Anywhere’s Automation 360 platform will be available on Google Cloud, and the two companies will mutually develop AI- and RPA-powered solutions, bring RPA capabilities to multiple Google Cloud products, and closely align go-to-market teams to help global businesses scale RPA capabilities.

Quantexa announced it has partnered with Deloitte as part of its global illicit finance and economic crime initiative, to enable the contextual monitoring of criminal activities. The move will help enterprises establish a robust framework against organized crime, and a powerful defense against the rise of illicit finance, economic crime, and the fraud epidemic. Deloitte will utilize Quantexa’s Contextual Decision Intelligence (CDI) platform to enable its clients to leverage technology and analytics as part of robust Economic Crime Governance and Risk Management Frameworks, to effectively monitor payment flows and gain a more accurate picture of the holistic risks presented from customers and associated third parties, legitimate and otherwise.

New Relic launched new capabilities in New Relic Applied Intelligence to help engineers detect, understand, and resolve incidents faster than ever. This latest update to New Relic One allows engineers to uncover anomalies automatically. Engineers can now also see the probable root cause of every incident from any data source automatically, with guidance on suggested responders on their team who may be best equipped to revolve each issue. Also available in public beta today, engineers can quickly spot patterns and outliers in all their log data using machine learning (ML) to dramatically reduce troubleshooting time. 

DE-CIX announced it has established interconnections with Vapor IO’s Kinetic Edge platform. The interconnections give edge applications global reach via thousands of networks that interconnect through DE-CIX Dallas and DE-CIX Chicago, as well as via extended reach to DE-CIX New York, where those same applications can access efficient network routes through DE-CIX’s GlobePEER Remote service. DE-CIX’s global neutral interconnection ecosystem reaches all the way from the DE-CIX IXs in North America to Europe, the Middle East, and India, and on to Southeast Asia, connecting close to 2200 networks overall. DE-CIX interconnection services are available today from Vapor IO’s Kinetic Edge locations in Dallas and Chicago using Vapor IO’s web portal and its software-controlled Kinetic Edge Exchange platform.

Real-time analytics news in brief:

VMware announced enhancements across its cloud management portfolio spanning CloudHealth by VMware and VMware vRealize Cloud Management on-premises and software as a service (SaaS) offerings. The new and enhanced capabilities will further enable customers to monitor, better secure, optimize, and automate their growing number of VMware Cloud and native public cloud services.

Cogitate Technology Solutions extended its collaboration with Verisk to expedite and enhance the digital experience throughout the insurance value chain. Cogitate will source and integrate commercial data from Verisk into Cogitate’s flagship solution DigitalEdge. The integration will allow Cogitate’s clients to access Verisk’s solutions, robust data, and advanced analytics, such as real-time analytics, helping them increase automation, boost efficiency, and accelerate their digital transformation.

VeraSci announced a new partnership with Aural Analytics where VeraSci has embedded the Aural Analytics’ A2E™ speech analytics mobile application SDK and web API into the Pathway eCOA platform in preparation for multiple upcoming pivotal clinical trials. Speech analytics will be used along with more conventional clinical outcome measures to provide a richer picture of patients’ neurological health.

AiRISTA Flow introduced sofia, a resource location tracking platform to increase preparedness and reduce errors in healthcare delivery. The platform uses wireless tags to track the location and condition of people and things. Fast to deploy, small BLE gateways are used as anchor points that leverage existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to communicate with the AiRISTA Flow Cloud.

Blue Triangle announced the general availability of the Native Blue App, which covers Application Performance with error and crash detection and reporting for Native Android and iOS Apps. With Blue Triangle, teams can track the experience of every web and mobile app visitor in real time to identify specific web performance, third-party tag, and purchase path issues that are measurably impacting revenue.

Domo announced it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Machine Learning Competency status in the new Applied Artificial Intelligence (Applied AI) category. This designation recognizes that Domo has demonstrated deep experience and expertise in building or integrating ML solutions on AWS.

Feedzai announced Feedzai Fairband, an advanced AI fairness framework. The new AutoML algorithm automatically discovers less biased machine learning models with zero additional model training cost while increasing model fairness by up to 93%, on average. With this new technology, Feedzai allows financial institutions to make better and fairer decisions.

Pure Storage announced the general availability of Pure Cloud Block Store on Microsoft Azure Marketplace. With a common dataplane across multicloud environments, customers can move to the cloud on their terms, allowing for seamless application portability to the cloud or the ability to complement on-premises workloads with Dev/Test, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions in the cloud.

Noodle.ai introduced a new category of AI software for manufacturers called Flow Operations, or FlowOps, which enables a company to drive toward perfect operations flow and become a no-waste enterprise.

Expert.ai launched a new user community to serve the AI natural language understanding (NLU) and natural language processing (NLP) software ecosystem using the expert.ai NL technology, products, and API.
