Arm, Intel, and NVIDIA have jointly authored a paper describing an 8-bit floating point (FP8) specification and its two variants, E5M2 and E4M3, to provide a common interchangeable format that works for both artificial intelligence (AI) training and inference. This cross-industry specification alignment will allow AI models to operate and perform consistently across hardware platforms, accelerating AI software development. In particular, FP8 minimizes deviations from existing IEEE 754 floating point formats with a good balance between hardware and software to leverage existing implementations, accelerate adoption and improve developer productivity. The guiding principle of this format proposal is to leverage conventions, concepts, and algorithms built on IEEE standardization. This enables the greatest latitude for future AI innovation while still adhering to current industry conventions.
The Linux Foundation announced that PyTorch is moving to the Linux Foundation from Meta, where it will live under the newly-formed PyTorch Foundation. Since its release in 2016, over 2400 contributors and 18,0000 organizations have adopted the PyTorch machine learning framework for use in academic research and production environments. The Linux Foundation will work with project maintainers, its developer community, and initial founding members of PyTorch to support the ecosystem at its new home.
In related news, AMDannounced it is joining the newly created PyTorch Foundation as a founding member. Leveraging technology and solutions such as the AMD ROCm open software platform, AMD Instinct accelerators, Adaptive SoCs, and CPUs, AMD will help the PyTorch Foundation by working to democratize state-of-the-art tools, libraries, and other components to make ML innovations accessible to everyone.
Newgen Software announced the launch of its integrated Robotic Process Automation (RPA) offering. With this RPA capability, Newgen further strengthens its low code process automation portfolio. The RPA engine offers task automation for a user with a desktop recorder and scripting tools while also integrating with the entire process model so that businesses can optimize processes that take more time. Furthermore, it can integrate with legacy applications where APIs are not available and deploy bots more effectively.
C3 AI announced the introduction of C3 AI ESG, an application that leverages AI and machine learning to help companies monitor, report, and improve their ESG (environmental, social, and governance) performance. The solution enables customers to integrate data from all their ERP, supplier, customer, and manufacturing systems—plus relevant exogenous market data, emissions, and commodity data. C3 AI ESG reduces the time required to gather, manage, and analyze disparate ESG data and allows companies to identify ESG risks, capture opportunities, and accelerate initiatives to meet their ESG goals.
Bluesky formally launched announcing its first product that provides visibility into Snowflake workload usage and costs as well as actionable insights and workload-specific recommendations for maximum optimization. Bluesky analyzes query workloads to detect similar groupings, using a technology it calls query patterns. By intelligently watching for similar query patterns, Bluesky can detect complex situations that simplistic visibility tools miss. Bluesky can suggest tuning options for valuable workloads, increasing efficiency while also looking out for clear savings, such as long-running queries that repeatedly fail without providing any value.
Riverbed announced Alluvio IQ, a new cloud-native, SaaS-delivered Unified Observability service that empowers IT with actionable insights and intelligent automation to fix problems faster and improve digital service quality. Alluvio IQ leverages full-fidelity network performance and end-user experience data across every transaction in the digital enterprise and applies AI and machine learning to contextually correlate data streams and alerts to identify the most business-impacting events. The new service enables IT organizations to “shift left,” empowering all staff to do the job of more experienced IT experts, freeing-up senior IT staff to focus on strategic business initiatives.

ScaleOut Software introduced Version 2 of its ScaleOut Digital Twin Streaming Service. This release builds on Version 1’s comprehensive feature set, which integrates machine learning into digital twins using Microsoft’s ML.NET library, provides intuitive business rules to build digital twin models, and integrates with Microsoft’s Azure Digital Twins. With this release, developers can now create digital twin models in C# using .NET 6 for deployment on both Windows and Linux systems. Digital twin models also include new capabilities, such as timers for detecting missing messages from IoT devices and automatic initialization of all digital twins from file-based data. This release also provides performance improvements in the Azure-based execution platform to harness the latest features in .NET 6.
SambaNova Systems announced its next-generation DataScale system. SambaNova enables the consolidation of AI sprawl into foundation models that are trained once and reused across the organization via the DataScale system, which is a fully integrated hardware-software system. The next-generation system offers several key enhancements, including better performance, support for the largest models, enhanced full-stack support, and customer value-based pricing.
Syniti announced new data quality and catalog capabilities available in its Syniti Knowledge Platform, building on the enhancements in data migration and data matching added earlier this year. The Syniti Knowledge Platform now includes data quality, catalog, matching, replication, migration, and governance, all available under one login in a single cloud solution. This provides users with a complete and unified data management platform enabling them to deliver faster and better business outcomes with data they can trust.
CAST AI introduced Cloud Security Insights, a security analysis tool that integrates into CAST AI’s cloud optimization platform. With the addition of Security Insights, CAST AI’s platform brings together a comprehensive suite of tools for automating Kubernetes cost reduction, cloud resource provisioning, and security monitoring across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
D2iQ released updates to its D2iQ Kubernetes Platform (DKP), enhancing organizations’ ability to streamline the deployment and management of Kubernetes workloads in Day 2 production environments. Of particular significance for Amazon Web Services Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) customers is the ability to deploy and manage EKS Kubernetes clusters more easily. By providing a central management plane that unifies and eases the management of all Kubernetes clusters, DKP 2.3 gives enterprises control and consistency across multi-cloud, multi-cluster landscapes.
StarlingX, the open-source edge computing and IoT cloud platform optimized for low-latency and high-performance applications, is available in its 7.0 release today. StarlingX combines Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and more to create a full-featured cloud software stack that provides everything telecom carriers and enterprises need to deploy an edge cloud on a few servers or hundreds of them. StarlingX is used by the most demanding applications in industrial IoT, telecom, video delivery, and other ultra-low latency use cases.

Oracle announced that MySQL HeatWave is available on Amazon Web Services (AWS). MySQL HeatWave combines OLTP, analytics, machine learning, and machine learning-based automation within a single MySQL database. AWS users can now run transaction processing, analytics, and machine learning workloads in one service, without requiring time-consuming ETL duplication between separate databases such as Amazon Aurora for transaction processing and Amazon Redshift or Snowflake on AWS for analytics and SageMaker for machine learning.
Dell Technologies announced it is expanding its long-standing strategic relationship with Red Hat to offer new solutions that simplify deploying and managing on-premises, containerized infrastructure in multi-cloud environments. Combined Dell and Red Hat solutions will help organizations speed the development and operations (DevOps) of cloud-native applications while removing IT management barriers. For example, The Dell Validated Platform for Red Hat OpenShift, powered by Intel, streamlines deployment processes and management of on-premises infrastructure for container orchestration.
Deep North and Dell Technologies announced a partnership to bring AI-driven video analytics in a highly scalable architecture to global customers. With Dell edge computing technologies combined with Deep North’s artificial intelligence and computer vision software, businesses can use their existing on-site video cameras to overcome challenges such as erroneous foot traffic data, frequent stockouts, ineffective staffing, and line abandonment. In addition, businesses can gain real-time data on important in-store metrics such as customer behavior, shopper journey, checkout compliance, and shelf engagement to increase sales, lower costs, and improve the customer experience.
Sigma Computing announced that it has partnered with Snowflake to launch a seamless integration and out-of-the-box experience for joint customers on the Snowflake Healthcare & Life Sciences Data Cloud. The Snowflake Healthcare & Life Sciences Data Cloud offers healthcare companies a single, integrated, and cross-cloud data platform that eliminates data silos so that they can securely centralize, integrate, and exchange critical and sensitive data at scale. The new partnership will allow joint customers to remain compliant when using Sigma’s data exploration platform, which is purpose-built for the business user.
Flytxt B.V. announced that its Flytxt CLTV AI for CX solution is now available on SAP Store and is part of SAP’s industry cloud portfolio for the telecommunication industry. Flytxt CLTV AI leverages the integration capabilities of SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and integrates with SAP Customer Data Platform to deliver actionable customer and product intelligence to improve customer experience workflows and decisions, resulting in better business outcomes.
Altair signed a definitive agreement to acquire RapidMiner. RapidMiner’s low-code platform is used by people of all skill levels to develop production-scale data pipelines and ML models. This acquisition significantly strengthens Altair’s end-to-end data analytics (DA) portfolio, which already offers customers the power to understand, transform, act on, and automate their data.
KORE announced that it has entered into an agreement with Ericsson to join the Ericsson IoT Accelerator ecosystem. With this relationship, enterprises will be able to take advantage of KORE’s IoT connectivity solutions and other managed services while utilizing Ericsson’s global IoT connectivity management platform, IoT Accelerator. This enables global enterprises to seamlessly expand their IoT business in the U.S. market and beyond.
Concentric AI announced it has partnered with Snowflake to integrate its Semantic Intelligence solution. The Semantic Intelligence solution helps joint customers find, evaluate, and protect personal, health, and financial data so they can meet demanding regulatory requirements and prevent sensitive data loss. This integration benefits joint customers by making Concentric AI’s data security posture management capabilities readily available on the Snowflake Data Cloud.
Semtech Corporation announced that Intent Technologies and Nexity Group have integrated Semtech’s LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN standard into its IntentPlatform to optimize performance, improve quality of service and reduce the carbon footprint in residential and commercial properties. The IntentPlatform smart building solution has already achieved 10% savings in overall building operational costs for Nexity. The LoRa-enabled smart properties solution enables real estate professionals to improve the operating performance of a building by exchanging data with more than 180 service suppliers and digital software vendors through a dashboard with alerts on a single Cloud platform.
